Folger-specific note
From dealer's description: "Later inscriptions and armorial bookplate. Written in the same neat and legibe hand throughout. I have not identified the author of the manuscript. However, at the end of the first sermon he does helpfully state the date and the place where he preached each sermon. At the end of the sermons there are several pages of notes on shorter paper but in the same hand." Bound with "The whole book of Psalmes: collected into English meeter, by Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins and others. Set forth and allowed to be sung in all churches, of all the people together, before and after morning and evening prayer; and also before & after sermons, and moreove in private houses for their godly solace and comfort: laying apart all ungodly songs and ballades, which tend onely to the nourishing of vice, and corrupting of youth." (London, 1649). Ordered from Dean Byass, New York Book Fair booth, D 9189, 2018-03-28.
