Note
From dealer's description:"The playbill advertises the 114th time that Hamlet was played at Stora Teatern. Nils Arvidsson did the adaption for the stage using C. A. Hagbergs translation. Hamlet was played by Edvard Swartz (1826-1897) and Ophelia by his wife Clementine Swartz (1835-1923). Edvard Swartz was one of the most renowned actors in 19th century Sweden. He started his career at Dramatiska Teatern with the role of Hamlet in 1853 and rose to fame almost overnight. In the same year Clementine made her debut on Dramatiska Teatern. This playbill announces no show at Dramatiska Teatern this night, so Hamlet at Stora Teatern is the only play on display. The Stockholm Royal Theatre was split into two separate venues in 1863 when the Royal Dramatic Theatre got its own house. The two venues issued a common playbill each day, with performances at the opera house "Stora Teatern" in the left column and at the Dramatic Theater in the right column. Occasionally, when no plays were performed in one of the houses, that column was left blank."
