This is a PRELIMINARY RECORD. It may contain incorrect information. Please email catalog@folger.edu for assistance. From dealer's description: Archive of 30 mostly 8 x 10" vintage photos, all double weight, with stamps on back both of the photographer (primarily Vandamm) and also of the production company. This definitive collection of images documents one of the important post-WWII Shakespeare productions given on Broadway--a revival of Antony and Cleopatra starring Katharine Cornell, who was often dubbed the first lady of serious live theater at the time, directed by Guthrie McClintic, with sets by Leo Kerz. The stark modernist designs of Kerz are well documented in these photos.
