Summary
Bookseller's description: A beautifully composed manuscript with fine calligraphic flourishes. Written in ink on paper in the same neat hand throughout, prefatory leaves with rubricated borders and some titles rubricated. Self-portrait frontispiece of Jacobus Poole, drawn in pencil and ink, the engraved title page is cut from a printed book, the borders have been hand-coloured, the central oval excised and replaced with Poole’s title written in manuscript. Two woodcut initials in the preface have been taken from a printed book and hand-coloured, and two further initials are entirely in manuscript. Monarchs’ names are executed in calligraphy with text in a neat hand with some inset illustrations.
