Folger copy 63 is made up throughout from very miscellaneous, mostly disjunct, leaves of various sizes. Prelim. gathering [superscript pi]A is wanting; supplied in facsim. are [superscript pi]A1, 1+1 (title leaf), 2,3,5,5+1,6; for [superscript pi]A4 and [superscript pi]A5+2 are supplied the leaves bearing the corresponding text in the 2nd Folio (respectively *2 and *1, with *1 mutilated and patched). Also wanting is final gathering 3b; supplied in facsim. are 3b3-6; for 3b1,2 are supplied the leaves bearing the corresponding text in the 2nd Folio (respectively 3c5,6). Port. (on facsim. title page) is a drawing. Leaf A1 is present but is also supplied in facsim. Also wanting are A3,4,6, B1, D1, Z5, 2z5,6, and 3a1-4,6; supplied in facsim. except for D1 and Z5 for which are supplied the leaves bearing the corresponding text in the 2nd Folio (respectively also D1 and Z5, the latter of which is mutilated, affecting text, and patched). Leaves A1,2,5, K4,5, N4, Y5, t3, x4, 2n6, 2y6, 2z3,4, and 3a5 are mutilated (affecting text) and patched, among which t3 is completed in manuscript, and x4 and 2y6 are completed with a piece or pieces from another copy of the same leaf. Other imperfections affect text on L5, Q5, m4, r5, and 2l1 and slightly affect text on 14 other leaves. No list of uncorrected states on file. Leaves bear manuscript annotations passim. Residual rusty outline of small scissors between leaves D6v-E1r (pages 48-49), Merry wives of Windsor. Mrs. George Swift copy. Not in Sidney Lee's Census of copies of the first folio, nor in his Notes & additions.
