Folger copy 54 wants [superscript pi]A1, 1+1 (title leaf), and 2-5 and 3b6; supplied in facsim. Also wanting is A1; supplied in facsim. Leaves Q2, t6, and 2f6 are mutilated (affecting text) and patched, with Q2 and 2f6 completed in manuscript Other imperfections affect text on E2, O6, k3, and 2r5,6 and slightly affect text on A3, G3, N1, 2B4, e6, f1, [superscript chi]2g3, t1, and 2a3. No list of uncorrected states on file. Inscribed (a) "Olivea Cotton" [ca. 1675] ([superscript pi]A5+1 recto) and (b) "Elizabeth Hutchinson" [ca. 1700] (b6 recto), with, in the same hand, Q5 recto inscribed "Eliz. Hutc.", Y5 verso "Elizabeth", and 2l3 verso "Isabella". A16r: "Ole[uio?] Gail William" and "Thomas Clarke." b1r: "J. Julius." The Comedies and, to a lesser extent, the Histories are annotated, in a different late 17th-cent. hand, with lists of dramatis personae and identifications of scene locations. Supplemented with statements of provenance (among which, 2 slips removed to file) and annotations as to contents, by Capt. Charles Hutchinson, R.N., 1870. Accompanied by two 19th-cent. ports. of Shakespeare. Hutchinson family (of Owthorpe, Nottinghamshire) library copy. Said, by Capt. Hutchinson, loc. cit., to have belonged to Col. John Hutchinson and Lucy Hutchinson.
