Folger-specific note
Folger copy 58 wants [superscript pi]A1 and 1+1 (title leaf) and 3b6; supplied in facsim. Leaf 2z5 also wanting; supplied in facsim. (remargined). Made up mostly from 2 base copies, the leaves of one identifiable because remargined. (The watermark of leaf k6, which is characteristically remargined, redounds the watermark of k1.) Very little of the Comedies (only I6) and little of the Histories (only h1, i4, k6, x⁴, and most of d⁶) are made up of the remargined leaves; much of the Tragedies are thus made up. Leaves d2 and 2z2, and probably others, are supplied from a still different copy or copies. Leaves +"gg3" and 2g1.2 are mutilated (affecting text) and patched (2g2 patched with printed facsim.). Other imperfections affect text on T6, x4, 2b4, 2f1, 2r5, 2x1-3,6, and 2y1,2 and slightly affect text on 11 other leaves. No list of uncorrected states on file. Inscribed "Jos. Berwick's Book" ([superscript pi]A6 recto) and "Constall" (g2 verso). Other manuscript additions include transcriptions of the name "John Rice" that appears in the list of actors ([superscript pi]A5+2 recto). Residual rusty outline of small scissors between leaves 2e1v-2e2r (pages 50-51), I Henry IV. Not in Sidney Lee's Census of copies of the first folio, nor in his Notes & additions.
