Folger copy 48 wants all before H1 (prelims., Temp., Two Gent., Merry Wives, and M. for M.) and 2s4 to end (all of Oth. except the 1st page, Antony, and Cymb.). Also wanting are q5-t2 (Rich. III). Much tattered, especially gatherings H-O and 2f-2r and 2s1-3. Only a fragment of 2q2 remains. Imperfections affect text on 20 leaves and slightly affect text on 4 other leaves; list on file. No list of uncorrected states on file. The verso of 2q6 bears the original proof corrections. Other manuscript additions include inscriptions: "Thomas Willson [ca. 1775] (free front endpaper verso); "17. Nov. 1807. John Cranch" (H1 recto); and "Alice Stevenson 1723" (3[par.]1 recto). Stabbed with three holes throughout. "Spencer" (i.e., Walter T., bookseller) copy. FILM Fo. 114.18a--Negative microfilm of Folger copy, STC 22273 no. 48 (16:1, 55 feet). Not in Sidney Lee's Census of copies of the first folio, nor in his Notes & additions.
