Folger-specific note
Folger copy 30 is large and untreated but much mutilated. Leaf [superscript pi]A1 is loose, [superscript pi]A1+1 (title leaf) wanting, [superscript pi]A2 loose, [superscript pi]A4 wanting, and [superscript pi]A5+1 loose. Leaves [superscript pi]A5+1.2 positioned after superscript pi]A6. Leaves 3b2,3 are loose, 3b4 wanting, 3b5 loose and mutilated toward the outer margin and at tail, affecting text, and 3b6 wanting. (Loose leaves removed to folder.) Also wanting is "gg³". Imperfections affect text on R6 (wanting the lower outer corner), X3 (wanting the upper outer corner), and 2f5 (mutilated inward from the outer margin). Mutilation at the fore-edge of the book affects text on 2y5 to end. Leaf 3[par.]1 is much mutilated, without affecting text. Other imperfections affect text on 2C1, a4, b2, t2,6, and v1,5 and slightly affect text on 17 other leaves. See curatorial file for additional information, including variations not recorded here. Accompanied by a separate manuscript docketed "Notes as to 1st Editions of Shakespeare" on paper watermarked 1808 (removed to file). Bound in contemporary calf, the original binding--RESTRICTED USE. Bookplate of Thomas Fraser Duff. Not in Sidney Lee's Census of copies of the first folio, nor in his Notes & additions.
