In Folger copy 10 [superscript pi]A1+1 (title leaf) is a large fragment, mounted and completed in manuscript facsim. Leaves [superscript pi]A5+1.2 bound after [superscript pi]A6. Port. (on title page) in state 3. Imperfections affect text on B5, c3, 2e2, and 2q4 and slightly affect text on N5, T2, X3, b2, and f1. See curatorial file for additional information, including variations not recorded here. In addition to +"gg3", -"gg3" is present (mutilated; wanting the outer third of the leaf) with the text on the recto (the end of Romeo) crossed out. Manuscript additions: (1) note about Sheldon provenance and Sheldon sale [in 1781] and about "a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Shakespeare on foot" made at the same time by John Henderson, Isaac Reed, and John Watson Reed, on front flyleaf; (2) "In Posterum" (Ralph Sheldon's motto) and an extraneous note about a purchase of sugar made Nov. 28, 1628, inscribed on patches backing [superscript pi]A1; (3) "Ja: Hai..." (mutilated) "pretium:..." (mutilated), on title page; (4) annotations on rear free endpaper and throughout text. Ralph Sheldon arms stamped on upper and lower covers.
