"I beg to inform you that it is necessary to obtain the Lord Chamberlain's licence for every Drama previous to its representation. The Examiner's fee is 2.0.0 for three, four, or five act Dramas and 1.0.0 for a Drama in one or two acts. Any Drama forwarded to me post paid and enclosing the usual fee will meet immediate attention and the Lord Chamberlain's License will be sent to you . . ." Dimensions nine and a quarter by seven and a quarter inches.
