Note
Includes: SCRIPT] FIRST DRAFT 20th September 1995. 218 pp. There are some pages of revisions on pink and blue paper with various dates in January, [1996]. Some pages contain underlinings in Thomson’ hand. There are also some scattered pages with MS notes in his hand. (For example, pages 168-9 contain scenes with Horatio. In some cases, the script reads “DAY”, and Thomson has crossed that out to indicate “LATE AFTERNOON- TWILIGHT.” In another case, he has crossed out “DAY” in a scene where Gertrude and Horatio stand by the door to Ophelia’s room, and he notes in MS: “This then should be moody.” Some of the pink pages were inserted a bit carelessly, hence there is some creasing and bending at the edges, but overall very good. --3 sketches of sets for this film, drawn in ink with light coloring added, done on white paper, and then laid down on black mat paper, the mat paper measures 8 x 12”. One is a sketch of Ophelia’s room, one is of the Main Hall, one is of Hamlet’s study. ----about 40 pp. of miscellaneous storyboard sketches, photocopied, and with MS highlighting of many pages by Thomson in pink. ---A very detailed blueprint plan of the exterior being used for the Elsinore palace. Folded, about 33 x 34” ---Breakdown, pp. 2-30, with a few MS listings crossed out. ---Several additional pages of revisions on pink paper, loose in side sleeve. On the verso of one Thomson has written a full page list of lamp requirements for Blenheim night shooting. ---A smaller blueprint, photocopied, of the main set. --About 30 pp. of photocopied notes on visual effects, with some scattered MS notes., and with a single page on Warner Brothers stationery of notes on camera requirements
