"The designs in this book were constructed by means of a method intended to represent visually the basic sound-patterns of poetry. The method is my own but the shapes taken by the individual designs were determined wholly by the phonetic structure of the sonnets themselves. "This book has been set on the linotype in Egmont italic. The Roman numerals are Egmont capitals. The pages are printed in gray ink on Warren's Olde Style white laid paper. It is bound in Zeppelin cloth, with endpapers of Ticonderoga Text. The entire edition of 500 copies has been printed and bound by The Comet Press, Inc., Brooklyn, New York.
