Title
Tragedian Lawrence Barrett [graphic].
Created/published
Cleveland, OH : W. J. Morgan & Co., lith., [ca. 1880]
Description
1 print ; 63 x 47 cm
Associated name
Barrett, Lawrence, 1830-1891, actor.
Note
Bookseller's description: different roles, arrayed on either side of a bust of Shakespeare. The two on the left, at least, appear to be Shakespearean characters, likely showing him as Cassius in Julius Caesar and as Hamlet. The figure on the far right probably depicts him as the lead character in Edward Bulwer-Lytton's Cardinal Richilieu. The identity of the other character is less clear--to my untrained eye, at any rate. CONDITION: Very good, a few minor creases.
Poster depicting American actor Lawrence Barrett (1838-1891). A central portrait of Barrett appears below a sort of pantheon, showing him in four different roles, arrayed on either side of a bust of Shakespeare.
