Summary
Four-panel chromolithograph with gold embossing, with vertical fold line at center. Illustration of William Shakespeare encircled by a wreath on the leftmost panel, on a black background with white flowers; the rightmost panel contains only white flowers on a black background. The center consists of two horizontal panels, partially overlapping. The top center panel is a bookshelf containing red, yellow, and green books with the titles of selected Shakespeare plays on the spines. Caption: The Poet's Corner. The bottom center panel contains an illustration of scroll with a quotation from Hamlet, act 1, scene 3 ("Give every man tine ear, but few thy voice: Take each man's censure, but reserve thy judgement.") on the left and an illustration of Shakespeare's birthplace in winter on the right, with a patterned green silk(?) ribbon in between.
