Sotheby's catalog description: Order signed by twenty-one members of the Privy Council including Thomas Egerton, the Earls of Nottingham, Northumberland, Shrewsbury, Worcester, Pembroke, Derby, and Sussex, to Lord Buckhurst, Lord High Treasurer, ordering that Robert Aston be provided with £5500 to pay for the new King's progress from Scotland, one page, folio (305 x 205 mm), integral address leaf, docketed, Whitehall, 31 March 1603; seal tear neatly repaired. Red morocco folder. Sotheby's catalog note: James I acceded to the crown of England on 24 March 1603. His accession was met with huge enthusiasm and he was met by huge crowds on his slow progress to London in April and May, culminating in his coronation at Westminster Abbey on 25 July. Ordered from Christopher Edwards List 69, PO D 8977. He bought it at the Robert S. Pirie sale, Sotheby's, New York, 2-4 December 2015, lot 484.
