On all but nine of the parts he has noted the theater at which the production opened (23 Drury Lane, 1 Covent Garden, 1 Haymarket); with the date of first performance (23 Nov. 1783 to 29 May 1799) on 22 he has noted the date of first performance (Nov. 23, 1783, to May 29, 1799); on five he has noted the date of a second production at Covent Garden (Nov. 17, 1803, to Oct. 25, 1805). Ten are Shakespeare plays: T.a.11 Macbeth (D.L. Mar. 31, 1785), T.a.13 Richard III (no theater or date), T.a.17 King Lear (D.L. Jan. 21, 1788), T.a. 23 Coriolanus (no theater or date), T.a.25 King John (D.L. Dec. 10, 1783), T.a.30 Merchant of Venice (D.L. Jan. 22, 1784), T.a.34 Much ado about nothing (D.L. Apr. 30, 1788), T.a.35 Measure for measure (D.L., no date), T.a.38 Henry V (no theater or date), T.a.39 As you like it (D.L. Feb. 14, 1799; C.G. Oct. 25, 1805). Two others are Elizabethan plays: Massinger's Roman Actor (T.a.29) and Fletcher's Rule a wife (T.a.20).
