Summary
A poetical and prose miscellany of the late 18th century. The greater part of the selections are by or about important figures of literature and the stage, particularly Johnson, Garrick, and Goldsmith, about all of whom there are many anecdotes. Also epitaphs, inscriptions and letters.
Note
Labelled "Manuscript Collection". Poem on p. 147 derives from Cherokees (see curatorial file). Poems listed in the Folger card index of first lines. Several annotations initialed by the compiler, A.T.W., appear to have been added some years later than the original compilation; one of these on a slip originally loose, is dated 1808; another, on p. 4, states that the first entry was written when A.T.W. was fifteen years of age.
