In the full-page woodcut ill. the patrician families of Augsburg are represented by standing men in armor, one to a page, their coats of arms resting on the ground beside them, their family names in letterpress at head of page. The ill. are numbered in five sequences (51, 8, 39, 41, 17). A few are signed CW for Christoph Weiditz, their author; see VD 16.
Woodcut title page vignette after Jost Amman, signed MC; see Illustrated Bartsch 20/2, p. 737. Full-page cut on p. 3 with initials IA for Jost Amman, and MF for the block cutter. The text on p. [55] is set within a decorative woodcut border, incorporating Feyerabend's device of Fame in a cartouche surrounded by his name; the border is signed at the foot IA and MF (I. O'Dell, Jost Ammans Buchschmuck, a18). Another version of Feyerabend's device appears at the colophon (O'Dell f18). Decorated initial, two tail-pieces.
