Note
Calendar titled "Horlick's Malted Milk Shakespeare Calendar, 1908" on bottom scroll. At top: "Shakespeare's Heroines" with artwork by C. Allan Gilbert. Three portraits are signed by the artist and dated 1906: "Rosalind" "Portia" and "Juliet". "Other Shakespearean characters on the back" is printed below the calendar's title at the bottom. The reverse has a printed banner, "Horlick's Malted Milk for the Seven Ages". Below, "The Original and only Genuine Characters" with pictures of: "The Infant - "Perdita" Winter's Tale"; "The Schoolboy - "Arthur" King John"; "The Lover - "Romeo" Romeo and Juliet"; "The Soldier - "King Henry V" King Henry V"; "The Pedant" - Holofernes"; "Love's Labor Lost"; "Last Scene "Lear" King Lear". Portrait of Shakespeare with signature and image of his birthplace, "Strafford on Avon". Interspersed text of advertisement for Malted Milk at bottom. "A duplicate of this calendar mailed to any address upon receipt of ten cents" sent to "Horlick's Malted Milk Co., Northwestern Ave., Racine, Wis., U.S.A".
