Note
Dorothy Ellery's testimony, signed with her mark, concerning an encounter with a Cavalier prisoner and a group of people in the house of John Brown. Margaret Collins, a bystander, affirmed that the man was a Cavalier "for that he was soe pretty for that all the Cauileers were pretty." They discussed the differences between Cavaliers and Roundheads, and the prisoner expressed his desire to roast Roundheads on a spit.
