Bedford, original covers of light brown calfskin, with blocked and tooled gold and silver decoration (including a ragged staff and the Dudley badge), inlaid. With binding repair invoice of Francis Bedford for Mr. Pickering dated December 5, 1865 tipped in (cf. Bearman, Frederick A., Nati H. Krivatsky, J. Franklin Mowery.
