Imperfect: wanting chi1 and the plates after Y4 and MMMM5; also wanting the final leaf (chi1, YYYYy4, and the plate after MMMM5 are supplied in photostats, bound separately, from the British Museum copy). Manuscript notes and markings, including manicules. Printed name in passage on p. 1464, 2nd column, fourth paragraph, penultimate line is blotted out in ink (cf. the same passage in Folger smk STC 11224 Copy 2). Stained, creased and wormed throughout, with some edges frayed, affecting side-notes. The plate after NNN6 is damaged and partially silked; DDDD5 is partially torn away and stained; both are also supplied in photostats from the British Museum copy. Contemporary blind-tooled calf binding over boards, re-backed, with corner bosses and a center boss, and evidence of clasps; front and back panels are enclosed by three rows of a roll including the heads of Erasmus, Huss, Luther, and Melancthon (compare to binder "F.D." in Oldham, John. English blind-stamped bindings. Cambridge, 1952, p.32, plate XXIX). Provenance: Harmsworth copy
