Brown calf binding with manuscript waste paste-downs (note: since removed); rebacked in toned calfskin, stored in a goatskin case made by Riviere & Son. Provenance: inscription on t.p.: "Su[m] Ben: Jonsonij [Jonson] liber"; manuscript note on A1v: "Amico summo D. Rich: Briggesio. [Richard Briggs ?]...Jonsonio tuo. [Jonson ]...Augusti. M.DC.XXIII..."; inscription on A2v: "Guliolmus: [William?] [Dauling ? or Darling ?]: His: Booke Anno Domini 1676"; armorial bookplate and inscription of Bryan Faussett (motto "fauste succedunt qui deo credunt"); note: bookplate was destroyed during conservation treatment.
