cs0532. Manuscript notes and markings. Manuscript verse on final leaf: "Daemon languebat, monachus ... / Englished. The devill was sick, the devill a monke ... J.D." (see manuscript verse on *1v of STC 10936). Circular manuscript (sale?) label ('873') on front turn-in. Trimmed, affecting headlines and direction-lines. Bound in contemporary gilt-tooled calfskin; printed waste (with Latin text from an unidentified source) and manuscript waste paste-downs (three fragments of waste have been removed and are separately housed); re-backed; repaired by Folger Library; stored in a case. Bound with (and following): Fitz-Geffry, Charles. The blessed birth-day. Oxford, 1636 (smk STC 10936). Provenance: gilt initials of 'S D' on front and back covers; inscribed following manuscript verse on *1v: "Jo: Drew." (see also Latin poem on back fly-leaf) ; book-label of B.
