Inscribed (with some loss because of fore-edge trimming): "Chrofri Grymes[ton] ex dono authoris"; i.e., Christopher Grymeston, probably the husband of Elizabeth, who started at Gray's Inn in 1592/3. With manuscript Latin quotations and drawing of a privy.
