Note
Certification: Die stamped twice on each end, "Shakespeare wood." Sharp's name, which usually appears with this die, was not used.

Provenance: Bought of Jaggard [i.e. William Jaggard, Shakespeare Press, Stratford] June 1, 1927. See Mrs. Folger's card file under Mulberry Tree Wood. Note on card reads, "Guarantee by Mary Lyne going back to 1756." Price not given. Item described on receipt in HCF's file, Booksellers: Bills and Receipts (Folger Archives) under Shakespeare Press, June 1, 1927, "Antique rolling pin, made from Shakespeare's original mulberry tree, as fashioned and sold by T. Sharp in 1756, with his die stamp at ends, and guarantee of Mary Lyne in whose family it has remained since 1756. The guarantee is not with the rolling pin and is not in the ms. collection, cataloged or uncataloged. Price listed L35/10/-.
